About Furano
This season Rhythm is proud to announce the opening of a new branch situated in Furano.
Located in central Hokkaido about 2hrs north of Sapporro city, Furano Ski Resort is renowned for some of the worlds best powder skiing, with its annual average of 9 metres of classic Japanese powder and over 950 metres of vertical in one of Japan's largest ski resorts.
Skiing at Furano is spectacular, with virtually every run giving you great views of the peak of Mt Furano and the summits of Hokkaido's highest mountains such as the famous volcanic peak, Asahidake. Furano is also a great place to base yourself while you take a day trip to one of the many other great ski resorts in central Hokkaido such as Kamui Ski Links, Alpha Resort Tomamu, Sahoro Resort and of course Asahidake.
If you are looking for a guide to take you to any of these places talk to the experienced crew at Hokkaido Powder Guides to arrange a taylor made tour.
Furano is also home to world cup races and offers visitors fantastic tree skiing, steep and fast runs, easy cruising for beginners, more sunny days and with the added bonus of lack of crowds, which means no queuing on those powder days, all within a beautiful and serene landscape unique to Furano.

If you are looking for something different to do then Furano has plenty of other things to offer. If you like Japanese food Furano has an abundance of restaurants ranging from Sushi, Tepan Yaki to Shabu Shabu or Curry. Furano also has it's own cheese factory just 5 mins from the resort where you can try your hand at making your own cheese and wash it down with some of the local Furano wine. Also make sure you head down to the Restaurant in the Gondola station for the free cultural performances every Saturday night.
The mountains and the snow, the flowers and rivers, the volcano and the adventure, the agricultural products which go to make the amazing food and wine, the culture and art, make this one of the most popular tourism destinations for Japanese and international guests alike.
For more detailed information on Furano talk to the team at the
Furano Tourism Association right across the road from the 'Kan Kan Mura' or Ice bar.
